Bed Rest - Lessons Learned

My slipped disc injury required an initial bed rest of 14 days, which I spent reading books, watching videos and movies, writing, thinking, observing…
Even though this seemed like an eternity to a hyperactive ME who hardly spends time at home, yet I knew there was something to gain out of that experience.
Today , I got a very cute “Diary “as a gift from Riddhima and Hatim; 2 very close friends of mine who knew I wanted to start writing one,
and on my first page I found myself summing up the lessons I learned over the past 12 days.
I'm not really a So-Called Preacher by any means, but let's see if that makes sense to anyone:
 - One way to test your progress in life is to open up your old messages and check out what you had wished for and were complaining about back then. If those are still the same as now then sorry; you have been only standing still!!!
 - Your body is a treasure box and your brain is the key to its lock; Think positive. It’s all in your head!!
 - Be grateful for what you have before you have to learn that the hard way.
 - Learn from your parents’ mistakes but don’t strive to be so different than they are. After all, they are the only reason why you are HERE and YOU.
- Appreciate the small things in life; your morning coffee, the sunlight through your car window, a call from a friend to check up on you, laughing your head off over a silly joke, internet, hot water in the shower, your cozy blanket in the freezing cold, ..etc.
- Beauty and happiness were made to be shared.
- There are no boundaries when it comes to inspiration. The ones who have inspired me the most had no existence in my life.
- Keep a list of 10 things that once made you crack-up. They’ll come in handy when you feel down.
-  There is a thin red line between the following. Make sure you know where you stand:
                                                        Life and Live
                                                       Time and Now
                                                     Space and Here
                                               Freedom and Selfishness
                                             Independence and Loneliness
-  There are no such things as coincidences. It’s all part of the “Plan”.

It’s about time we start admitting how so damn lucky we are !!!!
